Theoretical/Practice Emphasis:
I describe myself as a pragmatic, eclectic therapist. The orientations that most influence my practice are family systems, cognitive behavioral, and psychodynamic. I believe in approaching each problem in a biopsychosocial manner, i.e. examining the biological, psychological and social aspects of each disorder. Accordingly, I take a very holistic approach to each problem and its treatment. For problems that require medication I work very closely with psychiatrists here in the group and with family physicians. Treatment of children and adolescents routinely involves working with the family.
